Sustainable agriculture: the value of obtaining independent certification from third parties This session will explore the value of certifications in the current market, including for sugarcane, soya, wood, and livestock. It will identify the key aspects of the market as far as price, market access, and profitability, and will evaluate the economic value added to the existing operations of a client. The speakers will be from both local Paraguayan companies and foreign companies that currently export certified products.

3:45 pm - 5:15 pm Sala Copa América 15 Tools for monitoring and preventing deforestation This session will present experiences with monitoring deforestation in Paraguay and measures for mitigating it with satellite-based tools used by a number of industries, mainly agriculture and livestock. The session will look at a number of cases where these tools have made it possible to control different environmental aspects and determine the necessary way to sustainably develop the projects. It will also look at how the use of these tools has made it possible for banks to do a more detailed credit analysis.
