Peru. The bank has branches in Lima’s metropolitan area and national coverage
Scope Objective:
The project consists of a loan of up to $30,000,000 to Banco Internacional del Perú-Interbank. The loan is made up of an A loan of up to $10,000,000, funded by the IIC, and a B loan of up to $20,000,000, funded by participants. The loan will have a term of up to seven years, including a grace period of up to two years. The proceeds from the Loan will be used for medium and long-term on-lending and fixed assets and equipment leasing to small and medium-size companies that are majority-owned by Latin American or Caribbean nationals and operate in productive sectors of the Peruvian economy. Working with a sound Peruvian bank will help the IIC meet its goal of supporting the development of small and medium-size companies. In addition, the IIC funding will support the stability of the Peruvian banking system by providing medium and long-term financing, which in Peru is relatively scarce.
Environmental Review:
This is a Category III project according to IIC’s environmental review procedures.

Each subloan and leasing operation will be subject to an environmental review and must comply with Peruvian environmental laws, regulations and standards, as well as applicable policies of the IIC.
