IIC Signs A Memorandum Of Understanding With The Italian Chamber Of Commerce In Rosario, Argentina


BUENOS AIRES, Argentina - On June 30, 2004, the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC) signed a memorandum of understanding with the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Rosario, Argentina. The memorandum paves the way for the two institutions to jointly explore opportunities for exchanging information, cooperation, technical assistance, and training in order to foster the development and financing of small and medium-size private Argentine and Italo-Argentine companies. Such companies play an essential role in the economic and social development of the Republic of Argentina.

The signing ceremony took place in the Banco Municipal de Rosario conference room in Rosario, Argentina. Signing on behalf of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Rosario were Messrs. Franco Tirelli and Raúl Pacilio, President and General Secretary, respectively. Mr. Fernando Luciani signed in the name of Mr. Jacques Rogozinski, General Manager of the IIC.

The Inter-American Investment Corporation is a multilateral financial institution that is part of the Inter-American Development Bank Group. It provides financing (in the form of equity investments, loans, guarantees, and other instruments) and advisory services to private enterprises in Latin America and the Caribbean. The IIC's mission is to promote the economic development of its regional borrowing member countries by stimulating the establishment, expansion, and modernization of private enterprises, particularly those that are small and medium in size.
