IIC Signs Agreement With Nacional Financiera, S.N.C. To Participate In A Partial Credit Guarantee Program


Okinawa, Japan - On April 11, 2005, the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC) signed an agreement with Nacional Financiera, S.N.C. to participate in a partial credit guarantee program.

The main purpose of the program is to support Sociedades Financieras de Objeto Limitado (SOFOLs), non-bank financial intermediaries, and medium-size companies seeking to broaden and diversify their sources of funding by issuing debt securities, thus increasing the supply of credit for small and medium-size companies.

The signing ceremony took place on the occasion of the forty-sixth Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Inter-American Development Bank and the twentieth Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Inter-American Investment Corporation in Okinawa, Japan . Signing for Nacional Financiera, S.N.C. was Mr. Federico Patiño Márquez, Deputy General Director for Investment Banking; Mr. Jacques Rogozinski, General Manager, signed for the Inter-American Investment Corporation.

The Inter-American Investment Corporation is a multilateral financial institution that is part of the Inter-American Development Bank Group. It provides financing (in the form of equity investments, loans, guarantees, and other instruments) and advisory services to private enterprises in Latin America and the Caribbean. The IIC's mission is to promote the economic development of its regional borrowing member countries by stimulating the establishment, expansion, and modernization of private enterprises, particularly those that are small and medium in size.
