IIC And Arrendadora Interfin S.A. Sign A US$5 Million Loan Agreement That Is Regional In Scope


San José, Costa Rica -- On March 17, 2005, the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC) signed a US$5 million loan agreement with Arrendadora Interfin S.A. for El Salvador, Guatemala, and Costa Rica. The IIC loan will provide financing for small and medium-size companies that need long- and medium-term funding to purchase fixed assets and machinery.

The signing ceremony took place at the offices of Arrendadora Interfin S.A. in San José, Costa Rica. Signing for Corporación Interfin S.A. was Mr. Luis Liberman Ginsburg, General Manager. Mr. Carlos Ortiz, General Manager, signed for Arrendadora Interfin S.A., Arrendadora Interfin El Salvador S.A. de C.V., and Arrendadora Interfin Guatemala S.A. Signing for the IIC was Mr. Gustavo Romero, IIC senior investment officer in Costa Rica.

The Inter-American Investment Corporation is a multilateral financial institution that is part of the Inter-American Development Bank Group. It provides financing (in the form of equity investments, loans, guarantees, and other instruments) and advisory services to private enterprises in Latin America and the Caribbean. The IIC's mission is to promote the economic development of its regional borrowing member countries by stimulating the establishment, expansion, and modernization of private enterprises, particularly those that are small and medium in size.
