IIC, in alliance with local partners, will hold its first FINPYME ExportPlus workshop in Guyana


Georgetown, Guyana - On June 28, 2011, the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC) will hold its first FINPYME ExportPlus workshop, in collaboration with strategic partners such as the Institute of Private Enterprise Development (IPED) and Republic Bank (Guyana) Ltd.

FINPYME ExportPlus, an IIC technical assistance program financed by the Korea-IIC SME Development Trust Fund, seeks to enhance the capacity of small and medium-size companies (SMEs) to access export markets by improving their competitiveness and facilitating their access to potential sources of financing.

This first group-based workshop will focus on export strategies. The workshop will be facilitated by Mr. Ramesh Anand Persaud, senior lecturer at a local consulting company. FINPYME ExportPlus was launched as a pilot project in Guatemala in 2009 with excellent results, and since then has it is being expanded to Guyana, Barbados, Suriname and The Bahamas.
