IIC’s FINPYME Program Held a Workshop in Barbados on Operation Management
St. Michael, Barbados - On August 8, 2011, the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC), in collaboration with the University of the West Indies, held a FINPYME workshop on Operation Management for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Barbados. This was the second round of FINPYME technical assistance activities organized in Barbados, following the first workshop on business strategy held in May.
During the second workshop, eleven participants learned how to explore and implement methods to rapidly assess, improve and manage the performance of their business operations. This was a timely subject for participating SMEs in that they were able to get a broader perspective on their operational level after they set up a long-term business strategy at the first FINPYME workshop.
FINPYME, an IIC technical assistance program financed by the Korea-IIC SME Development Trust Fund, is a diagnostic tool for small and medium-sized enterprises intended to help them improve their competitiveness and facilitate their access to potential sources of financing.
