Integrity in IIC Projects
The Corporation attaches great importance to promoting integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct in all its operations and is publicly committed to applying a standard of zero tolerance regarding prohibited practices, both in its internal affairs and external operations.
The IIC firmly believes that promoting integrity, transparency, and ethical business practices creates a level playing field and helps foster good corporate governance and the expansion and modernization of private enterprises in Latin America and the Caribbean.
As a member of the IDB Group, the Corporation collaborates with and is supported by the IDB’s Office of Institutional Integrity (OII) in implementing preventive measures, conducting investigations, delivering technical assistance, and instituting proceedings under its sanctions procedure. In its annual report, the OII informs on the Corporation’s efforts to combat fraud and corruption.
The Corporation is also part of a broad-based international effort to promote integrity and transparency in private sector operations. To this end, the IIC has joined the International Financial Institutions Anti-Corruption Task Force, endorsing the Uniform Framework for Preventing and Combating Fraud and Corruption, and is a signatory to the Agreement for Mutual Enforcement of Debarment Decisions.
